SCOPE

This position paper is a starting point for developing Blue Sky’s overall roadmap to 2050. The report provides a summary of the Coalition’s initial thoughts on how to best accelerate a transition of the maritime value chain in the U.S. and Canada towards net-zero emissions.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

(1) Identifying the pathways and approaches that Blue Sky has initially identified as most likely to accelerate significant GHG emission reductions and serve the North American marine shipping sector in achieving net-zero—measured on a life-cycle emissions basis from “well-to-wake”—by 2050.

CURRENT STATUS

COMPLETED

The publication of the Coalition’s inaugural position paper, “Fuels and Propulsion Systems,” the first in the series “Pathways to Net-Zero 2050 in the North American Marine Shipping Industry.”
