Director and Executive Vice President of Groupe Desgagnés
Julie is Executive Vice-President (Liquid Bulk) of Groupe Desgagnés. Desgagnés is a Canadian-based ship owner headquartered in Québec City, with diverse land-based and marine operations in Canada, including in the Canadian Eastern Artic. In keeping with its foundational values, Desgagnés is a marine industry leader, committed to both safety and environmental stewardship, as evidenced by its longstanding contribution to both the Green Marine Program and the Shell’s sponsored ‘Partners in Safety’ Program.
As a senior executive at Desgagnés, Julie provides both leadership and oversight of Desgagnés liquid bulk activities whose fleet of vessels includes five (5) state-of-the-art dual-fuel LNG product and chemical tanker vessels.
Julie is a member of both the Ontario and Quebec bars and began her career as lawyer in the corporate practice group of Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt LLP in Montreal, with a practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities, financing, and corporate governance.
Over the last 10 years, she has held various positions within the Canadian maritime industry, including Vice-President Commercial (Canada) of The CSL Group Inc.
Julie holds various diplomas, including a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance) of Commerce, a Bachelor of civil law, a Juris Doctor in common law, and a certificate in naval architecture from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy.
